The CGOP for Students has been designed and developed for
students on the threshold of leaving the academics world and making
their foray in the work arena.
The search for a job can be a time consuming and difficult task.
Most colleges and institutes only impart the education related to
the syllabus of the course being attended. They however, do not
equip the students with the relevant skills and knowledge required
to kick start their career.
Students are often at a loss when faced with a job selection
interview. It would be incorrect to think that any student who can
successfully take on degree examination can also successfully face
job interviews. Most of the interviews are of a short duration,
during which members of the recruiting team evaluate the candidates -
different people looking for different aspects of personality - to
find out the best match with the yardstick of the recruiting team.
Jobs are attained only through succeeding
in interviews. The lack of understanding of the interview
process leads to apprehension and a barrier for effective
preparation for interviews.
